In A Vase Monday: Oakleaf Hydrangea and Eucalyptus
Brightening a Monday...
This simple vase in my kitchen started with a piece of broken-off Oakleaf Hydrangea branch...
...and added a few clippings of Eucalyptus 'Baby Blue,' which I grow outside in a container that it has far outgrown.
I used this sweet vase to put them in, on the counter behind my kitchen sink.
Then, then next day, the morning light hit the window. I got that little "Wow" feeling from the shadows of the vase, an extra to the blue and green glass that I always keep here.
It was fun to shoot this little scene, in the changing light, and the deeper I got into trying to find the right angle, the more I got into the Eucalyptus patterns....
...They were mesmerizing.
Here's to simple pleasures. May we all just bring in a little green from the outdoors, on a Monday, and show it in a vase on our tables, or kitchen counters.
