Simple, clean line as unifying element
Small improvements + good design = most bang for buck
On a small budget, and with good design, this partial renovation went a long way. The homeowner and I carefully thought through simple yet effective ways we could improve the yard and make it most useful to her. We removed some of the most awkward elements (see "before" pictures at the end of this album), and kept the existing patio. I used a simple sweeping path with a clean line to unify the disjointed elements. Boulders serve as focal points and anchors, and the Joy Creek soil amendment gave the plants the boost they needed. Voila! Harmony in the garden.
Designed in 2014, and installed that same year by Joy Creek Nursery's Landscape Installation Division.
